Sewing with friends; Liana Jeans and Lisbon Cardigan for ITS Love Tour + Giveaway

Liana label 2 wm

My friend Diane of Sewing with D and I decided to work together to sew up two items on our project list, the Lisbon Cardigan and Liana Stretch Jeans from Itch to Stitch (ITS). We had already completed our Lisbons and were about to start on our Lianas when the opportunity to participate in a blog tour in support of Kennis from Itch to Stitch came to the forefront. (See why here)

Diane and I quickly decided to open up our plans to sew together to the entire Itch to Stitch facebook group so others could join in with us and let’s just say some sewing got done. Hoorah!

For my stop on the ITS Love tour, I’d like to present my Lisbon and Liana outfit.

I made up the Lisbon in an interlock knit that’s been in my stash for over five years. The Lisbon is super easy and fast to make, especially if you skip the buttons. I think I finished this project in less than 2 hours cut to finish.

Being on a bit of a pant making stretch, the Lianas came together easily for me too. All the time I’ve invested into working out my fitting needs and having more practice making pants is really starting to pay off.

Special thanks to Diane and all the sewists that joined us to make our Liana jeans. I’ve been needing the extra motivation lately.

ITS Love Blog Tour

My sewing friends today is the launch of the ITS (Itch To Stitch) Love blog tour.

Recently, Kennis Wong the designer behind Itch to Stitch Patterns returned to find her house thoroughly burglarized. While her fans were going bananas purchasing her patterns to help in her effort to raise funds, several of us thought it would be fun to do a blog tour to continue to support her. And hence the ITS Love Tour was born.

This week we’re showing our Love for ITS patterns and for Kennis by showcasing our favorite patterns new and old. We have tour sponsors that are showing their love and support for Kennis by donating a great collection of prizes for us to giveaway.

Sew Long Summer inspiration from our sponsors

I’m very thankful to On the Cutting Floor, Blue Dot Patterns, and Zierstoff Patterns for partnering with me to make Sew Long Summer extra fun for you.

On the Cutting Floor is going to give away a pattern of choice to one lucky winner.

The giveaway ends soon so click through here to enter: GIVEAWAY

I already have the Santiago Jacket and the Megan Blouse on my fall sewing list.

How great would the Adeline Dress in denim or the long sleeve Sarah Dress in a double knit be for fall?

Use Code: SEWLONG for 50% off patterns from On the Cutting Floor   (Ends 9/17/16)

From Blue Dot Patterns I’m wanting another Ally Skirt in red. I love cotton sateen, but a fine corduroy would be cool weather appropriate.

May I suggest the Georgia Top in a cuddly french terry or following Diane’s tutorial for hacking her Dover Jacket into a car coat length.

Use Code: SewLongSummer for 25% off patterns from Blue Dot Patterns (Ends 9/17/16)

I’ve already used the discount to buy the SVEA pants from Zierstoff Patterns, but keep finding more that I want to make on every visit to their site.

The ALIZIA is speaking my colorblocking language and the KAREN has a great fit and cowl to keep you warm.

Use Code: zierstoffpatterns20 for 20% off patterns at Zierstoff Patterns  (Ends 9/17/16)

There’s just a few more hours to take advantage of these discounts, so get going.

Thank you so very much for reading along with the Sew Long Summer tour and leaving comments for the participating bloggers.

**I have an affiliate relationship with On the Cutting Floor, meaning if you make a purchase through my links to her site, I’ll receive a small portion of the sale.

Easter Egg pajamas for Spring Break PJ Tour at mahlicadesigns

Getting a new set of pajama’s has always made me feel good and since so many of us have fond memories of getting pajamas for Christmas, I bet you feel the same. I make my little guy pajamas every year as a Christmas Eve present, but just kinda wing it when it comes to spring and summer. No longer.

Easter PJs feature

I started with the free Christmas Raglan PJ pattern from Melly Sews. With a little alteration, I made my little guy a spring version.

100_4490

100_4489

I removed about 9.5in in length from the legs to make shorts, shortened the sleeves to about 3in length, and omitted the ribbed cuffs. Using self fabric worked just fine for the neckband too, though you’ll want to check the stretch in your fabric before you make a shirt you can’t get over the head, ask me how I know.

100_4494

100_4491

I was planning to stencil a cute sleepy time saying on the shirt, but little guy set his mind on Easter eggs, a year long favorite for him; and perfect timing. I simply downloaded a free image and used the freezer paper method to make my stencil.

The Little Guy loves his pajamas and the Easter eggs. I already have my eyes out for fabrics to make a Christmas version of the pattern.

With all this pajama inspiration, what pajamas are you adding to your sewing plans?

There’s still time for you to enter to win prizes in the Spring Break PJ Tour.
